Nenni & Associates partnered with a National Energy as a Service Provider for the purpose of an Executive Search to find the company’s new Chief Operating Officer. Nenni engaged with this company through an existing relationship with a private equity firm.
As Nenni & Associates BTG Team, consisting of Trevor Morrison, Sam Swafford, and Sean Bayless, took on the challenge of finding the candidate to fulfill the COO position, they focused on finding someone who had a thorough understanding of a newer Energy as a Service model and technologies, as well as a proven track record of being able to run a large geographical region. A dynamic personality and a passion to roll out new technologies in new geographies was essential.
The team began by pulling 12 top-tier candidates from the Energy Services, Energy as a Service, and Mechanical Contracting Industries. After building relationships through conversations and interviews, the BTG team at Nenni & Associates narrowed down the 12 candidates to two finalists. After further deliberation, one finalist was chosen.
The finalist showed strong capability to meet the challenges required of the company and the Chief Operations Officer position. The client was confident that this individual had the knowledge and desire to immediately improve internal structures and processes, and this compelled them to make an offer. The candidate accepted as they found they were a great fit culturally and the new role as COO would allow for the career growth they were seeking.
Sean Bayless is a Managing Partner for Nenni and Associates, leading business development and talent evaluation services in all areas of the HVAC market. Sean is an experienced senior manager who manages critical relationships with HVAC Manufacturers and Mechanical Contractors.
Trevor Morrison has been with Nenni and Associates since May 2013. As an Energy Services Account Executive, he manages and develops a client base comprising organizations in the energy solutions and sustainable infrastructure industries.
Sam Swafford has been with the Nenni and Associates team since April 2013. As an HVAC and Energy Account Executive, he manages and develops a client base heavily made up of HVAC/Mechanical Service providers. In 2017, Sam also took over responsibilities as Team Leader to establish a team of Account Managers.
