A prestigious Higher Education (Facilities and Sustainability) client partnered with the team of Jim Schafer and Sam Swafford of Nenni & Associates to identify a Senior Engineer to fulfill the role of Director of Engineering and planning for the university. The partnership naturally flowed from a previous search and client relationship.
The client sought a Senior Engineer, knowledgeable in mechanical, civil, and electrical engineering, who could lead a team of engineers. Nenni’s team pulled top-tier candidates from Energy Performance Contracting, Facility Services, and MEP consulting.
Two candidates, who were chosen due to meeting the criteria of excellent cultural fit and a passion for energy sustainability, were submitted to the client.
Eventually, one final candidate was identified and considered the best choice to fulfill the role of Director of Engineering. The decision was based on the candidate’s previous role overseeing an entire engineering team at another prestigious university. The decision-making team saw a commitment to creating solutions to make an immediate impact on the company's upward trajectory, as well as proven success in case studies showing successful projects.
The candidate accepted the client’s offer based on the ideal location, the distinguished university, and the caliber of the team.
